So many people think that the process of getting words on a page in a coherent manner is easy. It’s not. It takes hard work and talent to bring a story to life. Not everyone has the talent to tell a story and bring it to life. So, computer geeks have come up with a solution to the idea that anyone can write a novel. Welcome to the world of Artificial Intelligence or AI.
AI takes the writings of established authors and includes it in a database that can be accessed by anyone. It allows anyone who wishes to become Tolstoy or Hemingway at the click of a mouse. How do you become these writers you ask? Plagiarism. AI steals the words of established authors to become available just by putting in a few keywords or phrases until a whole novel is complete.
The problem with this is that this is considered plagiarism, or the stealing of another person’s work for monetary gain. We authors are vehemently opposed to AI as it can’t be caught until the unscrupulous person publishes the work. Luckily, more and more publishing houses are being diligent about the use of AI and catching plagiarized works before publication.
Remember, be careful of the writing app you use and don’t become a statistic of plagiarism. If you want to be a writer, learn how to write. Don’t steal the work of others.
